The Home Affairs Committee published its report ‘A Surveillance Society?’ on 8 June 2008. This memorandum sets out the government response to the conclusions and recommendations of that report. The committee’s report includes around 50 conclusions and recommendations for action by the government, the Home Office, the Ministry of Justice, the Department of Health, the National Policing Improvement Agency and the Information Commissioner. In this response the recommendations are identified according to the paragraphs in which they appear in the report.
